Right to Life Calling for Investigation into Planned Parenthood
Indiana Right to Life called for Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter and Monroe County Prosecutor Chris Gaal to launch immediate investigations into whether Planned Parenthood is properly reporting child sexual abuse in the wake of a video being released online which is identified as being shot at Planned Parenthood's Bloomington abortion clinic on June 24, 2008. In the video, a female claiming to be a 13-years-old and late on her period is advised to life about the age of the father and is given information on how to circumvent Indiana's parental consent law by having an abortion in Illinois.
Planned Parenthood was at the center of a 2005 investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of Attorney General's office in which Planned Parenthood refused to turn over records on customers under the age of 14-years-old. The Attorney General's office sought the records to verify whether child sexual abuse is being properly reported as required by Indiana state law. Planned Parenthood ultimately won a lawsuit over the records amd did not turn them over to the Attorney General's office.
